What Is Environmental Science?

Environmental science is the interdisciplinary study of the natural world and how humans interact with it. It blends:

  • Ecology (how living things relate to each other and their environment)

  • Geology (earth systems like rocks, soils, and plate tectonics)

  • Climatology & Meteorology (weather, climate change, patterns)

  • Biology (life science, ecosystems, biodiversity)

  • Chemistry (especially water, air, and soil chemistry)

  • Physics (energy flows and systems)

It's basically the science of survival—understanding the Earth well enough to protect, restore, and live in harmony with it.
